After the National Championship last night the postseason poll results were released.  Boise State has moved up to #4 in both the AP and Coaches polls.  I had heard many, many commentators (and friends) say they thought a third place spot was likely.  Some even said second was possible.  In the end, we were only 4 points away from taking the #3 slot away from Florida.

When watching the Fiesta Bowl I noticed, as apparently everyone else did, the one member of the Blue Thunder Marching Band who appeared as though she didn't want to be there.  What I did not know, was how much that brief moment would cause a stir among the viewing audience.  I read a story today that clarifies the situation:  http://www.idahostatesman.com/localnews/story/1032739.html

We are about 5 hours from game time and I'm starting to get all tweaky.  I do not expect this to be an easy game.  In fact, as much as I'd like to say it was in the bag, I don't even expect a win.  I do hope I can keep from getting wound up too tight so an early lead of 54 points would be much appreciated

It's official. We're headed back to a BCS bowl. In true BCS fashion, however, those that make the decisions have put us up against TCU.

At first this seems like a logical choice, seeing as how people have been arguing over which should be allowed in to begin with. On second thought, this matchup is really just a chickeny cop-out to keep the non-BCS teams from playing the highly acclaimed teams from other conferences. By putting BSU and TCU together, there is no way to challenge the theory that teams from outside conferences could handle playing against the big boys.

Now, I'm not complaining about getting a bowl berth, but I do think that TCU should be pitted against Cinci, and BSU should be facing Florida. For now, I guess we'll have to settle for what's been granted us.

I haven't posted about BSU football for a while but now is as good a time as any.  Boise State hits the road for this later-than-usual Friday night game.  I wish I could have gone with the caravan that took off this morning.

BSU is expected to win by 23.  Let's hope it's more like 46

OH MAN!  I was shocked to see the BCS rankings come out with BSU in the 4 spot.  Just gotta keep winning now.  That and do it decisively.  Kind of a meh game against Tulsa if you ask me.

There has been talk already about a title shot.  I actually hope it doesn't happen.  Too much at stake by going to the big game and not showing well.  I'd rather win a mid-level bowl this year, have a good opening season next year, and then talk more about a national championship game.

Wow.  Just, wow.  What a win against Miami of Ohio.  Wasn't sure what to expect since some teams come off a big loss and play extra hard to make up for it.  In this case, it was almost the same as their last game, taking it in the shorts for a loss to BSU to the tune of 48-0.  I'm hoping the rest of the season goes as well.

Short week leading up to the Fresno game.  It's usually a pretty big one for us.
