Senator Feinstein's leading the left's gun control chorus on Capital Hill, but she's no stranger to the right to bear arms, and has availed herself of that right many times. See MRC, "Feinstein in 1995 on her concealed carry permit: 'I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did'."
And at Instapundit, "REMINDER: Sen. Dianne Feinstein Has Concealed Carry Permit."Well, sure, because her life is important. Not like yours.

Ah, the gun issue.That
Ah, the gun issue. That reoccuring problem that despite what we do or don't do doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.
Well the Secret Service is sopposed to protect the president, therefore they would be expected to carry guns. Meth and heroin are already illegal, so not sure what these pics have to do with the real issue here.
We know that storing guns in gun safes and locking trigger assemblies only work if they're used and the potential perp doesn't have access to the keys/lock combo. We could outlaw guns and the phrase that usually follows is ...then outlaws will only have guns.
So back to the question. What should we do?
Limit access of high capacity magazines only to law enforcement and other government officials who would need them in their line of work. The average customer would be out of luck. The people who alrady have these will not be immediately affected. My thought is that the parts will eventually fall apart and need either replacement/repair. Repairing them could be criminalized and some people may not want to take the risk of getting caught repairng them. Replacement pieces, again will eventualy fail and eventually they'd disappear due to inconvenience.
Another issue is that guns are a big part of our culture. Movies, TV, popular music. I don't even know how to begin addressing that.
Well those are my thoughts on the matter. Have a Merry Christmas.

Hi Martin. It is a recurring problem that doesn't go away, and I feel that is due in part to more restrictions.
The point of the pictures is that it's easy for politicians to legislate away our rights because they have armies of gun toting protectors around them all the time. Feinstein and many others even have a concealed weapon permit (as noted in another post), so even if she didn't have guards she wouldn't be as defenseless as she wants all of us to be.
The second pic is a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor. Yes, those things are illegal and have been for some time. Yet there is still a war on drugs, right? So how did the drug ban turn out really? Same thing with guns. Most school campuses are gun free zones. How do shootings happen there when guns are already banned? What about states like California where restrictions are tight? It's because criminals don't care about the law and will use guns regardless. The only difference is where they are banned, law abiding citizens are put into a position where they can not protect themselves. What could have been the outcome if there was one or more responsible, trained individuals on campus? If that wasn't deterrent enough in itself, at least someone could have tried to stop him with more than a chalkboard eraser.
High capacity is a relative term. 30 round magazines for the AR-15/M-16 is actually standard capacity. There have been many mass shootings even during bans, and the magazine capacity was never a stopper. There have been instances where more than 10 rounds were needed for legitimate self defense. When your victims cannot shoot back, the capacity of your magazine is not a problem.
The original intent of the 2nd Amendment was to keep the government in check. The more we hand over freedoms, the close we get to a situation the founders were trying to save us from. It is a slippery slope, and we are already on it.
Here's something I just ran across that might be interesting to you.
